The Window Maker Live 0.96 distribution has been released, offering a user environment based on the Window Maker 0.96 window manager with a NEXTSTEP-style interface. The system environment is based on the Linux kernel 6.4.4 and packages from Debian 12.2. The builds are prepared for amd64 and i386 architectures (2.7 GB).
It includes GNUstep components available in Debian repositories, placed in a separate GNUstep Apps submenu. Among other things, the text editor Emacs 29.1 has been compiled using GNUstep libraries (a GTK2 build is also available), and a GNUstep-based email client, GNUmail, has been added (Claws Mail is included as an alternative). For web browsing, the Pale Moon and Surf browsers are provided.
