Release of DXVK 1.6, implementing Direct3D 9/10/11 over the Vulkan API

Created layer release DXVK 1.6, providing implementation of DXGI (DirectX Graphics Infrastructure), Direct3D 9, 10, and 11, working through call translation to the Vulkan API. To use DXVK requires the presence of drivers supporting Vulkan API 1.1, such as AMD RADV 18.3, NVIDIA 415.22, Intel ANV 19.0 and AMDVLK.
DXVK can be used to run 3D applications and games on Linux using Wine, serving as a higher-performance alternative to the built-in Wine implementation of Direct3D 11, which operates over OpenGL.

Key Changes:

  • The default installation of the auxiliary Direct3D 10 libraries d3d10.dll and d3d10_1.dll has been discontinued, as d3d10core.dll and d3d11.dll are required for D3D10 support in DXVK (dxgi.dll is also required on Windows). This change allows the use of the D3D10 framework developed in Wine for effects, applied in some games;
  • Minor performance optimizations have been made to the Direct3D 9 implementation;
  • Fixed an issue that caused crashes when attempting to capture snapshots with apitrace;
  • Crashes have been eliminated in some Source 2 games using the custom D3D9 renderer;
  • Redundant screen mode switches have been removed;
  • Fixed a bug that caused a green frame to appear when displaying videos in some games;
  • Issues encountered in games such as A Hat in Time, Dead Space, DoDonPachi Resurrection, Dragon’s Dogma, Star Wars: Republic Commando, and Yomawari: Midnight Shadows have been resolved.
