The release of RetroArch 1.11 has been published, which develops an overlay for emulating various gaming consoles, allowing classic games to be launched through a simple unified graphical interface. It supports the use of emulators for consoles such as Atari 2600/7800/Jaguar/Lynx, Game Boy, Mega Drive, NES, Nintendo 64/DS, PCEngine, PSP, Sega 32X/CD, SuperNES, etc. Gamepads from existing gaming consoles, including Playstation 3, Dualshock 3, 8bitdo, XBox 1, and XBox360, as well as general-purpose gamepads like Logitech F710, can be used. The emulator supports advanced features such as multiplayer games, state saving, enhancing the quality of old games with shaders, rewinding the game, hotplugging game controllers, and video streaming.
Among the changes:
- The auto-recording implementation has been improved.
- The RetroAchievements emulator has been updated to release rcheevos 10.4.
- Components for supporting Direct3D 9 have been split into two drivers: D3D9 HLSL (maximum compatibility but no shader support) and D3D9 Cg (based on the old Nvidia Cg library).
- Support for Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) has been added to the old game emulator for the Android platform, which includes a settings profile for Xperia Play and the ability to use touchpads.
- The menu has been reorganized.
- The Miyoo console emulator now includes support for rewinding and taking screenshots.
- Improved support for online play (netplay). For servers an interface has been added for viewing the list of connected clients, blocking, and forcibly disconnecting clients. Server detection in the local network has been improved and uPnP support has been expanded. Compatibility with consoles VITA, 3DS, PS3, WII, WIIU, and SWITCH has been enhanced.
- Support for Orbis/PS4 has been added.
- The SWITCH emulator has included support for RWAV audio files.
- For the UWP/Xbox platform, support for 4K resolution has been implemented.
