After more than a year of development, the release of the Live distribution Finnix 126 has been announced. The distribution is based on the Debian package base and only supports console operation, but it includes a good selection of utilities for administrators. It contains over 600 packages with various utilities. The size of the ISO image is 498 MB.
In the new version:
- The package base is synchronized with the Debian repositories.
- The Linux kernel has been updated to version 6.8.
- The package libc6-i386 has been included to run some 32-bit executable files in the 64-bit Finnix environment.
- A kernel command line option ‘0’ has been added, which functions similarly to the locale-config script but during the initial boot stage.
- The release was built using the GitHub Actions CI platform.
