The release of the SeaMonkey 2.53.10 internet application suite has taken place, bringing together a web browser, email client, RSS/Atom feed aggregator, and a WYSIWYG HTML page editor called Composer within a single product. Pre-installed add-ons include the IRC client Chatzilla, a set of web development tools known as DOM Inspector, and the calendar-scheduler Lightning. This new release contains fixes and changes from the latest Firefox codebase (SeaMonkey 2.53 is based on the Firefox 60.8 browser engine, porting security-related fixes and some improvements from active branches of Firefox).
Among the changes:
- The capabilities of the ChatZilla IRC client have been significantly expanded. Group message folding has been added. Localization has improved. Support for tags and monitoring mode for IRCv3 has been implemented. New IRCv3 commands include invite-notify, batch, echo-message, account-tag, server-time, extended-join, cap-notify, and account-notify. Support for TLS, STS, and SASL (PLAIN mode) protocols has been added.
- The configurator has undergone restructuring. Master password settings and saved password settings have been moved to a single section of the configurator. Warning output settings for redirecting requests have been moved from the 'Content' section to the 'Privacy & Security' section. Icon settings and integration with the system have also been relocated.
- Support for and elements has been added for intuitive date and time input.
