The release of the SeaMonkey 2.53.22 internet application suite has been announced, combining a web browser, email client, NNTP conference client, RSS/Atom feed aggregator, and WYSIWYG HTML page editor Composer into a single product. Pre-installed add-ons include the IRC client ChatZilla, the web development tools DOM Inspector, and the calendar-planner Lightning. This new release incorporates fixes and changes from the current codebase of Firefox (SeaMonkey 2.53 is based on the Firefox 60.8 browser engine with ported security fixes and some enhancements from the latest Firefox branches).
Most of the changes in the new version are related to the development of the IRC client ChatZilla, which features a more modern theme, improved settings and menus, a redesigned plugin installation dialog, and added information about network connection, user, and DCC chat (Direct Client-to-Client) in the status bar. Builds for 32-bit systems have been discontinued. The rest consists of bug fixes and improvements.
