Eight years after the first commit and five months after version 0.7 console XMPP client . The Profanity interface is built using the ncurses library and supports notifications with the libnotify library. The application can be built either with the , which implements XMPP protocol support, or with its fork , maintained by the developer. The capabilities of the client can be extended by using Python. The project code is written in C and under the GPLv3 license.
