It has been announced that new builds of the MODICIA distribution, created in 1998, are being formed. The distribution is based on the Debian package base and offers a selection of applications for musicians, designers, and video creators. The user environment is built using the Cinnamon desktop environment. The project supports a catalog of applications that contains around 1000 packages. The size of the ISO image, capable of running in live mode, is 5.1 GB (x86_64).
Among the features of MODICIA:
- The CPU high-performance mode (Turbo Boost) is enabled by default.
- The activity of using the swap partition has been reduced (the kernel parameter vm.swappiness has been decreased from 60 to 10).
- Zram is utilized for data compression stored in RAM (compressed RAM disk).
- A kernel version that operates in real-time mode is available for installation.
- Wine is used to run multimedia programs compiled for Windows.
