- A new single-row panel mode (Contextual Single UI) has been implemented for Writer and Draw, where tool sets are automatically selected based on the context of the operation being performed. This mode can be activated in the menu 'View ▸ User Interface';
- The classic panel has removed the group of additional tools 'More', with all elements moved to the 'Form Controls' panel. The ability to customize the width of the sidebar has been added (Office/UI/Sidebar/General/MaximumWidth). The icon sets Sifr and Karasa Jaga have been significantly updated;
- The design of the tabs in Calc and Draw has been changed to make them more noticeable and convenient;
- A new 'Tip of the Day' dialog has been added, displaying useful recommendations once a day after launch;
- The capabilities of the server edition of LibreOffice Online have been significantly expanded, allowing collaborative work with the office suite via the web. Added the ability to view Microsoft Visio files (in read-only mode). Improved HiDPI support, increased performance for processing online documents, and faster page loading. In Writer, image selection and rotation operations have improved, comment display has been enhanced, support for adding and editing watermarks has been provided, and a button for inserting charts has been added.
Tools for managing languages and locales have been implemented. A unified tool for adding digital signatures, exporting, and uploading PDF, ODT, and DOCX has been added. The organization of area selections and the movement of chart segments in Charts have been improved. Pasting from the clipboard has been simplified, and support for pasting in dialog fields has been added. When creating a new document, the option to choose a template has been provided. Dialogs for formatting characters, paragraphs, and pages have been added in Impress.
In Calc, conditional formatting dialogs have been implemented, and the insertion of rows through the context menu has been improved. - A new pop-up widget has been introduced in the formula input toolbar in Calc, replacing the old Sum tool and providing quick access to the most commonly used functions.
The new FOURIER() function has been added for performing the discrete Fourier transform on a specified array. The currency formats have been updated with the ruble symbol — "₽", which is now displayed instead of "rub". The statistical data sampling dialog has been redesigned ("Data -> Statistics -> Sampling" or "Данные -> Статистика -> Выборка").
- In Writer, support for copying text tables from Calc has been improved (now only the visible cells of the selected area are copied). The ability to edit variable input fields inline has been added. Setting a background (color, gradient, or image) now covers the entire page, including margins.
- A method closer to Word has been implemented for displaying text in table cells when writing bottom-to-top and left-to-right.
- The ability to manage MS Word input forms and use the "Form" menu as in MS Office has been added (enabled through "Tools ▸ Options ▸ Writer ▸ Compatibility ▸ Reorganize Forms menu to have it MS compatible").
- An interface for editing documents to mark sections of text that should be excluded from exported files (e.g., when saving to PDF) to hide confidential information, such as personal data has been implemented.
- PDF export has been improved, and support for the PDF/A-2 document format has been implemented in addition to the PDF/A-1 format. The design of editable PDF forms has been simplified by adding a "Form" menu in Writer. To improve compatibility with Microsoft Office, the ability to export documents in the .dotx and .xltx template formats has been added.
- Improved compatibility with proprietary Microsoft Office formats. Support for exporting document and spreadsheet templates in DOTX and XLTX formats has been added. Import of diagrams from DOCX, defined as groups of shapes with drawingML markup, has been implemented.
Improved compatibility with Pivot Tables from XLSX files. Import and export of SmartArt from PPTX files has been added.
- The Windows builds have been enhanced with a console mode, allowing batch operations without launching the graphical interface (for example, for printing or format conversion);
- Significantly expanded capabilities of the VCL plugins for KDE5 and Qt5, providing the ability to use native KDE and Qt dialogs, buttons, window frames, and widgets. Support for OpenGL has been added, drag-and-drop functionality has been improved, the rendering of slides with multimedia content in Impress has been enhanced, and the menu bar has been improved. The VCL plugin for KDE4 has been removed;
- The generation of 32-bit builds for Linux has been discontinued (32-bit builds for Windows will continue to be published unchanged). Support for 32-bit systems has been preserved in the source code, so Linux distributions can continue to deliver 32-bit packages with LibreOffice, and enthusiasts can compile newer versions from the source code.
