Release of PhotoGIMP 2020, a GIMP modification styled after Photoshop

Available project release PhotoGIMP, an enhanced version of the GIMP 2.10.x graphic editor, making the interface and behavior more familiar to users acquainted with Adobe Photoshop. Changes are summarized by the redesign of settings, menu and control panel layouts, inclusion of extended fonts, replacement of some icons, addition of extra filters (for example, the Heal Selection filter was added), and modification of keyboard shortcuts. To download it is recommended to the package in Flatpak format (PhotoGIMP is a modification of the standard Flatpak package from the GIMP project).

When using PhotoGIMP, caution should be exercised, as the replaced data contains questionable executable code, the purpose of which is unclear. The standard flatpak package of GIMP includes has the options ‘—share=network’ and ‘—filesystem=host’, which imply access to the network and file system. The PhotoGIMP project is being developed is well-known among Brazilian bloggers, but without a binary audit, one cannot be sure of the absence of hidden malicious activity.
