After a year and a half of silence in development, the release of the Lumina 1.6.1 desktop environment has been announced. This environment is being developed following the cessation of TrueOS within the Trident project (a desktop distribution of Void Linux). The components of the environment are written using the Qt5 library (without the use of QML). Lumina adheres to a classic approach to user environment organization. Fluxbox is used as the window manager. The project also develops its own file manager, Insight, which features support for tabs to work simultaneously with multiple directories, accumulation of links to favorite directories in the bookmarks section, an integrated multimedia player, and a photo viewer with slideshow support, tools for managing ZFS snapshots, and support for connecting external processing plugins.
Notable changes in the new release include bug fixes and the incorporation of developments related to theme support. Notably, a new default theme developed by the Trident project has been activated. The La Capitaine icon theme has also been included in the list of dependencies.
