A new version of the open-source monitoring system Zabbix 6.2 has been released. The release includes performance improvements, enhanced functionality with automatically discovered hosts, detailed process monitoring, significant enhancements to VMWare platform monitoring, new visualization and data collection tools, an expanded list of integrations and templates, and much more. The project code is distributed under the GPLv2 license.
Zabbix is a universal system for monitoring performance and availability servers, engineering and network equipment, applications, databases, virtualization systems, containers, IT services, web services, and cloud infrastructure. The system implements a complete cycle from data collection, processing and transformation, analyzing this data to detect problems, to storing this data, visualizing, and sending alerts using escalation rules. The system also provides flexible options for extending data collection methods and notifications, as well as automation capabilities through a powerful API. A unified web interface provides centralized management of monitoring configurations and role-based access rights for various user groups.

To upgrade from earlier versions, only the new binary files (server and proxy) and the new interface need to be installed. Zabbix will automatically perform the database update procedure. Installing new agents is not required.
