Release of rclone 1.59 has been published. It is an rsync-like utility intended for copying and synchronizing data between a local system and various cloud storage services such as Google Drive, Amazon Drive, S3, Dropbox, Backblaze B2, One Drive, Swift, Hubic, Cloudfiles, Google Cloud Storage, Mail.ru Cloud, and Yandex.Disk. The project code is written in Go and is distributed under the MIT license.
In the new release:
- Backends for backup storage have been added to Combine, Hidrive, Internet Archive, ArvanCloud AOS, Cloudflare R2, Huawei OBS, and IDrive e2.
- The command ‘rclone test makefile’ has been added for creating files for testing builds.
- Tools have been added to preserve extended metadata specific to different storage backends when copying files. Metadata extraction is currently implemented only for the local, s3, and internetarchive backends.
- Multiple flags ‘--exclude-if-present’ are now allowed in filters.
- The check command has been enhanced with ‘--no-traverse’ and ‘--no-unicode-normalization’ options.
- The minimum required version of the Go compiler for building has been raised to 1.16.
