Oracle has released a patch for the virtualization system , which notes .
Main changes in release 6.1.12:
- An experimental graphics output via GLX for guest additions has been added;
- A new experimental type of network connection has been added to the OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) integration components, allowing the local VM to act as if it is running in the cloud;
- Resource management for the guest system has been improved in the API;
- Issues with the reverse lookup icon in the log viewer interface have been resolved;
- Support for emulation of the BusLogic controller has been improved;
- A regression in data handling in FIFO mode in serial port implementation has been fixed;
- In VBoxManage, issues with parsing options for the 'snapshot edit' command have been resolved, and a crash has been eliminated when incorrect input is given to the 'VBoxManage internalcommands repairhd' command;
- In 3D components of the guest additions, issues with releasing texture objects that led to crashes of guest systems have been resolved;
- An issue with missed write operations to a file in a shared folder, for which mmap is used on systems with Linux kernels from 4.10.0 to 4.11.x, has been resolved;
- An issue with the shared folder driver, which rarely caused an error message on 32-bit Windows systems when performing a flush of disk write buffers for files mirrored in memory, has been resolved;
- Screen resizing capabilities for the virtual VMSVGA graphics adapter have been expanded;
- An issue with detecting the ISO image for the guest additions has been resolved.
