Oracle has released a corrective update for the virtualization system VirtualBox 6.1.24, which includes 18 fixes.
Key Changes:
- Support for kernel 5.13 has been added for guest systems and hosts with Linux, as well as kernels included in the SUSE SLES/SLED 15 SP3 distribution. Guest additions now support Linux kernels provided in Ubuntu.
- The component installer for Linux-based host systems now ensures the building of kernel modules, regardless of whether such modules are already installed and versions match.
- Issues with USB interface webcam forwarding in Linux have been resolved.
- Problems with starting VMs were fixed when a SCSI port number greater than 30 is used for a device attached to VirtIO.
- Improved notifications for DVD media changes.
- Sound support has been improved.
- Issues with network connection resumption in virtio-net after waking from sleep have been resolved. Additionally, problems related to UDP GSO fragmentation were addressed.
- Memory leak in the r0drv driver has been fixed.
- The guest additions fixed a crash when sharing the clipboard.
- Windows-based hosts resolved issues with digital signature verification for DLLs when using an incorrect certificate.
- For guest systems running Solaris, the default size for memory and disk has been increased.
- In EFI, stability has been improved along with added support for network booting when emulating E1000 Ethernet controllers.
