Oracle has released a corrective update for the VirtualBox virtualization system version 6.1.30, which includes 18 fixes. Key changes:
- Initial support for Linux kernel 5.16 has been added for guest systems and hosts with Linux.
- Fixes have been applied to distribution-specific deb and rpm packages for Linux hosts, addressing issues with the automatic installation of operating systems in guest environments.
- In the extensions for Linux guest systems, only one instance of VBoxDRMClient is allowed to run.
- The shared clipboard implementation has improved communication between the host system and the guest environment in situations where the guest system does not notify the presence of data in the clipboard.
- In the manager of virtual machines A regression that emerged starting with version 6.1.28, which prevented virtual machines from starting when using Hyper-V mode on Windows 10, has been resolved.
- In the graphical interface, the issue preventing the setup wizard from finishing after attempting to select an external image has been resolved. Problems with setting selections on systems without hardware virtualization support have been fixed. An issue with saving screenshots on Windows has been addressed. In storage settings, single-click drag & drop functionality has been established on systems with proxy server X11.
- A crash when parsing the file /etc/vbox/networks.conf has been fixed.
- An error in the handling of DVD drive locking mode has been corrected.
