After six years since the last update, a new release of the secure and high-performance FTP server vsftpd 3.0.4 is now available, featuring the following changes:
- Support for hostname matching within TLS connections using the SNI TLS extension has been added. A configuration option ssl_sni_hostname has been proposed for binding and hostnames.
- Support for TLS ALPN has been added, but any TLS ALPN sessions unrelated to FTP will be rejected.
- Support for TLS versions lower than 1.2 has been disabled.
- Build issues in Fedora 33 have been resolved, and crashes occurring in Fedora 33 have been fixed.
- Build issues with support have been resolved. SSL.
- Closure of the control connection is now implemented upon receiving 10 unknown commands prior to authentication.
