After 14 months since the last release, the new version of the free web browser Otter 1.0.3 is available. It aims to recreate the classic interface of Opera 12, independent of specific browser engines and tailored for advanced users who resist trends to simplify interfaces and reduce customization options. The browser is written in C++ using the Qt5 library (without QML). The source code is available under the GPLv3 license. Binary builds are prepared for Linux (AppImage package), macOS, and Windows.
The updates include an upgrade to the QtWebEngine browser engine, bug fixes, improved translations, and backported changes, the specifics of which are not clarified. Notably, work is underway to prepare a test version of the Otter browser for the OS/2 operating system.

- Ability to open highlighted fragments as links if the content matches the URL format.
