The key goal of developing the new Wi-Fi daemon is to optimize resource consumption, such as memory usage and disk size. IWD does not use external libraries and only leverages the capabilities provided by the standard Linux kernel (only the Linux kernel and Glibc are required to operate). The project code is written in C and licensed under LGPLv2.1.
