An experimental release of the open implementation of the Win32 API — Wine 10.14 has been published. Since the release of 10.13, 19 bug reports have been closed and 264 changes have been made.
The most significant changes:
- An implementation of the ping utility for IPv6 has been added.
- The GitLab continuous integration infrastructure has been migrated to Debian 13 release.
- The Wine Mono engine has been updated to version 10.2.0. Wine Mono is a distribution of the Mono Framework, intended for use in Wine instead of the proprietary .NET Framework component.
- The built-in Vkd3d package with Direct3D 12 implementation has been updated to version 1.17, which introduces a new shader type 'tx', adds support for shared memory in HLSL shaders, and expands support for geometry shaders.
- Bug reports related to the operation of applications have been closed: VemsTune, ROCS Show Ready, ShowStopper, Roblox Studio.
- Bug reports related to the operation of games have been closed: Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst, GreedFall, Mafia III: Definitive Edition, Death to Spies, Fritz Chess Coach, Le Mans Ultimate.
At the same time, the Wine Staging project release 10.14 has been formed, providing extended Wine builds with incomplete or risky patches that are not yet suitable for inclusion in the main Wine branch. Compared to Wine, Wine Staging offers 290 additional patches. The new Wine Staging release has synchronized with the Wine codebase 10.14 and updated the vkd3d code.
