The experimental branch of the open implementation of WinAPI — Wine 6.17 has been released. Since the release of version 6.16, 12 bug reports have been closed and 375 changes have been made.
The most significant changes:
- Improved support for high-density pixel screens (high-DPI) in built-in applications.
- The WineCfg program has been converted to the PE (Portable Executable) format.
- Preparation continues for the implementation of the GDI system call interface.
- Improved debugger support in Wow64 mode.
- Bug reports related to the game Imperiums: Greek Wars have been closed.
- Bug reports related to the following applications have been closed: Trusteer Rapport, PDF Eraser, ProcessHacker, NewProcessFromToken, Samsung SDK, AFxW.
Simultaneously, the release of Wine Staging 6.17 has been formed, which includes extended Wine builds featuring incomplete or risky patches that are not ready for inclusion in the main Wine branch. Compared to Wine, Wine Staging offers 604 additional patches. The new release has synchronized with the Wine 6.17 codebase. A patch correcting the return value of SHAddDataBlock in shlwapi has been moved to the main Wine composition. The wined3d-zero-inf-shaders patch has been updated.
