The experimental release of the open implementation of WinAPI — Wine 7.12 has taken place. Since the release of version 7.11, 13 bug reports have been closed and 266 changes have been made.
The most significant changes:
- Support for themes has been added for applications using Qt5.
- The vkd3d package, which implements Direct3D 12 working through call translation to the Vulkan graphics API, has been updated to version 1.4.
- Support for effects has been improved in the Direct2D API.
- Registry utilities now support QWORD (UINT64) type values.
- Bug reports related to the operation of games: Star Citizen, Shogun Total War 2, and Argentum 20 RPG have been closed.
- Bug reports related to the operation of applications: MetaTrader4, Approach (Smart Suite), and Wireshark have been closed.
Additionally, the formation of the Wine Staging 7.12 release should be noted, which involves building extended Wine assemblies that include incomplete or risky patches that are not yet suitable for acceptance into the main Wine branch. Compared to Wine, Wine Staging provides 543 additional patches.
In this new release, synchronization with the Wine 7.12 codebase has been achieved. The only change noted is the update to the patch 'winepulse-PulseAudio_Support,' which resolves issues with selecting sound devices when using the PulseAudio sound backend, adds support for GetPropValue, implements exclusive access mode to the sound device, and transfers the KEY_AudioEndpoint_PhysicalSpeakers property to the driver for PulseAudio.
