An experimental release of the open implementation of WinAPI — Wine 7.6 has taken place. Since the release of version 7.5, 17 bug reports have been closed and 311 changes have been made.
The most significant changes:
- The Wine Mono engine with .NET platform implementation has been updated to release 7.2.
- Work continues on migrating graphic drivers to use the PE (Portable Executable) file format instead of ELF.
- Support for locale with the use of the Unicode CLDR (Unicode Common Locale Data Repository) has been added.
- Bug reports related to the operation of the following games have been closed: The Crew, SteelSeries, World of Warships.
- Bug reports related to the operation of the following applications have been closed: Adobe Photoshop 7.0, Oculus Runtime, RMS Express, Swisslog, Sparx Enterprise Architect, JW Scheduler, Nota Bene.
Additionally, the formation of the Wine Staging 7.6 release can be noted, within which extended Wine builds are formed, including not fully ready or risky patches, which are currently unsuitable for acceptance into the main Wine branch. Compared to Wine, Wine Staging provides 560 additional patches. In this new release, synchronization with the Wine 7.6 code base has been achieved.
