An experimental release of the open implementation of WinAPI — Wine 7.7 has taken place. Since the release of version 7.6, 11 bug reports have been closed and 374 changes have been made.
The most significant changes:
- Work has been done to translate the X11 and OSS (Open Sound System) drivers to use the PE (Portable Executable) file format instead of ELF.
- The ability to use UTF-8 as the default ANSI encoding has been provided.
- Support for themes has been added to applets placed on the panel.
- Bug reports related to the operation of the games: Anno 1602 / 1602 A.D. have been closed.
- Bug reports related to the operation of the applications: IrfanView 4.44, RAR Password Recovery Magic, ConEmu, Capella have been closed.
