An experimental release of the open implementation of WinAPI — Wine 8.2 has taken place. Since the release of version 8.1, 22 bug reports have been closed and 285 changes made.
The most significant changes:
- In WoW64, the layer for running 32-bit applications on 64-bit Windows, system call converters (thunks) for the WPCAP library have been added.
- Debugging information in WoW64 mode has been improved.
- Support for the Indeo IV50 video codec has been added.
- Monitor names can now be set based on EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) metadata.
- Bug reports related to game operations have been closed: GOG Heroes of Might and Magic IV, Final Fantasy XI.
- Bug reports related to application performance have been closed: Visual Studio 2005, SubLab VST3 plugin, Rich Edit.
