An experimental release of the open implementation of Win32 API — Wine 9.10 has occurred. Since the release of 9.9, 18 bug reports have been closed and 254 changes have been made.
The most significant changes:
- The built-in Vkd3d package implementing Direct3D 12 has been updated to version 1.12.
- Improved support for DPI Awareness mode to manage the display of applications on high pixel density screens, depending on whether the application supports adaptation to DPI changes.
- Support for C++ RTTI (Run-Time Type Information) has been added for ARM platforms.
- The code in WineD3D has been cleaned up to remove deprecated features related to DirectX 1-11 based on OpenGL.
- Bug reports related to the operation of applications have been closed: Paint.NET 4.1, Notepad++, Race, Affinity Photo 1.9.1, Pivot Animator 4.2, FL Studio 20.9.1, EA Desktop Client, reMarkable, BExAnalyzer, EditPad.
- Bug reports related to the operation of games have been closed: DualShock 4, Silent Hill 4: The Room, games from the SRPG Studio, Far Cry 3, Horizon Zero Dawn CE, Metro Exodus.
Additionally, the Wine Staging 9.10 project release has been formed, providing extended Wine builds that include incomplete or risky patches that are not yet suitable for acceptance into the main Wine branch. Compared to Wine, Wine Staging offers 429 additional patches. In this new release of Wine Staging, synchronization with the Wine 9.10 codebase and vkd3d has been carried out. The vkd3d-latest patches (integration of the latest version of vkd3d) and Compiler_Warnings (fixes based on compiler warnings) have been updated.
