On February 23, 2024, the KiCad project released a new version 8.0.0. New features have been added, and many fixes have been made.

The ability to drag and drop groups of components in the PCB editor has been added;
Interactive adjustment of conductor lengths in the PCB editor has been introduced;
The ability to connect graphic shapes to lines (nets) in the schematic has been added.
