The other new features added in Chrome 74 are related to web development. Specifically, this pertains to unauthorized downloads that can trigger ads. They utilize iframes' sandboxing, loading a malicious file onto the PC.
Google engineers also removed the ability to open a new tab when the current page is closed. This method has been a 'favorite' attack vector on computers for the past few years and has also been used by ad farm operators.
The version of the browser for the mobile OS Android received a Data Saver feature, which is a new data saving mechanism. However, details about how it works are still unavailable. It is known only that it replaces the Chrome Data Saver extension for desktops and mobile devices.
