Wargaming has announced an amnesty for previously banned players of World of Tanks in honor of the tenth anniversary of the online action game. To celebrate the occasion, the developer wants to give users a second chance in hopes of reform.
Starting August 3, Wargaming will begin a large-scale unblocking of user accounts that were banned up to March 25, 2020, at 2:59 AM MSK. However, not everyone will be forgiven: players who received bans for legal violations, fraud, spam, bot use, and use of prohibited modifications should not expect leniency.
"We hope that the misled players will learn the right lesson from the past and, after unblocking, will not interfere with the conscientious commanders anymore," said Anton Pankov, product director of World of Tanks. "But being caught for repeated violations will result in permanent bans again, with no possibility of recovery in the future."
So, users banned for participating in match-fixing, account selling, destroying allies, creating violating nicknames, flooding, advertising, insults in chat, and some other violations .
"The principle of fair play has been and remains one of our main priorities," said Anton Pankov. "Together with you, we have spent a tremendous amount of time and effort to create equal conditions for everyone and ensure the spirit of fair competition. We do not want to compromise the results of this work, which is why the use of prohibited mods is not included in the list of violations eligible for unblocking. Our position on this is unchanged: their use is unsportsmanlike and unfair. Therefore, players caught using such modifications will remain banned."
