The release took place on May 22 Wine 5.9.
Wine — a compatibility layer for Windows applications with POSIX-compatible operating systems, translating Windows API calls to POSIX calls on the fly instead of emulating Windows logic like a virtual machine.
In addition to over 28 bug tracker fixes, the new release includes:
- Significant progress in the WineD3D backend on Vulkan.
- Initial support for splitting DLL libraries into PE and Unix parts.
- Support for generating PDB files when building PE DLL libraries.
- Updated timestamps in kernel shared user data (Kernel User Shared Data).
