The release of the monitoring system Monitorix 3.14.0 is presented, designed for visual monitoring of the operation of various services, for example, monitoring CPU temperature, system load, network activity and responsiveness of network services. The system is controlled via a web-interface, the data is presented in the form of graphs.
The system is written in Perl, RRDTool is used to generate graphs and store data, the code is distributed under the GPLv2 license. The program is quite compact and self-sufficient (there is a built-in http-server), which allows using it even on embedded systems. A fairly wide range of monitoring parameters is supported, from monitoring the work of the task scheduler, I / O, memory allocation and OS kernel parameters to visualizing data on network interfaces and specific applications (mail servers, DBMS, Apache, nginx).
Among the most important changes in the new release:
- Added nvme.pm module for monitoring NVMe storage devices (NVM Express). Among the parameters taken into account: drive temperature, load, fixed errors, intensity of write operations,
- Added amdgpu.pm module to monitor the status of an arbitrary number of AMD GPUs. The dynamics of changes in such parameters as temperature, power consumption, cooler speed, video memory consumption, GPU frequency changes are monitored.
- Added nvidiagpu.pm module for advanced monitoring of video cards based on NVIDIA GPUs (a more advanced version of the previously available nvidia.pm module).
- Support for IPv6 has been added to the traffacct.pm traffic monitoring module.
- Implemented interface operation mode in the form of a full-screen web application.
