Release of Blink Comparison, photo comparison app for tamper-evident seals

The first release of Blink Comparison, an app for Android 5.0+ that makes it easy to compare photo seals with tamper evident eyes. The program is written in Dart, uses the Flutter framework to build the user interface and is distributed under the GPLv3 license. The assembly is generated and published in F-Droid and Google Play. Support for other platforms (Linux, iOS) is planned.

The concept of the Blink Comparison method is simple - the application allows you to quickly switch images without delay to see the differences. The method is applied in astronomy and uses the human eye's highly efficient pattern and pattern recognition to provide a fast check between a reference image and a real image taken in situ. For example, to detect tampering of high-contrast nail polish-based seals used for tamper-evident protection.

Implemented features:

  • Ability to add and store reference images in the application, as well as create snapshots on the spot; all images are encrypted, making it difficult to steal or replace.
  • Support for comparing the reference image with the one that was just captured using the "blink comparison" method.
  • Helps to capture the photo to be compared in the correct position, at the correct angle, lighting and distance.
  • Material Design.
  • Night theme.
  • Adaptive interface for various device form factors.
