In the announcement, 343 Industries promised to improve the sound quality of Halo: Reach "as soon as possible". It was revealed that prior to the launch of Halo: Reach on PC, the developer was aware of some audio issues caused by the change in the way the original (Xbox 360) version of the shooter's audio was encoded, but did not expect this to affect the experience of many fans.

Other stuttering, screen tearing, and v-sync fixes for Halo: Reach PC may come later than the audio patch. In particular, 343 Industries reported that stuttering will not be easy to fix, as it can occur depending on the user's equipment, running in the background of applications and network problems. For now, the studio is recommending that PC players disable any third-party software to see if that fixes the stuttering.

In the meantime, another team is continuing to port the rest of Halo: The Master Chief Collection to PC. Porting of Halo: Combat Evolved is proceeding well, and users will be able to try out the game as early as January 2020 in the first public test. 343 Industries noted that the experience with Halo: Reach on PC will help to get rid of many of the problems in Halo: Combat Evolved.
