Acer unveils Predator XB3 monitors with up to 4K resolution and up to 240Hz

Acer's range of gaming monitors has been expanded with new models from the Predator XB3 series: the 31,5-inch XB323QK NV, the 27-inch Predator XB273U GS and Predator XB273U GX, and the 24,5-inch Predator XB253Q GZ.

All monitors in the series support Acer AdaptiveLight (automatically adapts the screen backlight according to ambient light), as well as RGB LightSense. The latter provides a range of lighting effects adjustable in color, speed, duration and brightness, and also responds to gameplay, music or video. Also, all monitors offer support for DisplayHDR 400.

The 31,5-inch XB323QK NV model uses an IPS-type (IPS-type) matrix with a resolution of 3840 Γ— 2160 pixels (4K UHD). The novelty offers a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The XB323QK NV screen response is not reported by the company, but it is likely to be 4 ms. The screen brightness is 400 cd/m2.

The manufacturer does not indicate the type of matrix, but it is very likely that we are talking about the Innolux M315DCA-K7B AAS. It has a static contrast ratio of 1000:1, support for 10-bit color depth (8 bits + FRC) and a 178-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angle declared by the manufacturer. Supported technologies include Adaptive Sync and AMD FreeSync. It also indicates compatibility with NVIDIA G-SYNC technologies.

The equipment of the novelty also includes: two speakers of 4 W, DisplayPort 1.4 ports, two HDMI 2.0, one USB-C, four USB 3.0, and a 3,5 mm audio jack. The arrival of new items on sale in Europe is expected in August this year, the monitor will arrive in American retail in September. The manufacturer does not report prices.

The resolution of the 27-inch IPS screen of the Predator XB273U GS is 2560 Γ— 1440 pixels. Its brightness, like the previous model, is 400 cd/m2. The dynamic contrast ratio is 100:000. The display response time is 000 ms, but if desired, it can be overclocked to 1 ms. The refresh rate is 1 Hz. The monitor offers 0,5-bit color support with 165 percent coverage of the DCI-P8 color space. The Predator XB95U GX model is distinguished by its screen refresh rate, which here is 3 Hz. In addition, the manufacturer does not indicate the response time for the GX version.

The equipment of both new products also includes: two built-in speakers of 2 W each, two HDMI 2.0 ports, DisplayPort 1.2a, two USB 3.0 (Type-A) and two USB Type-A for connecting LED strips. For the Western market, the manufacturer estimated the Predator XB273U GS model at $500.

The resolution of the 24,5-inch IPS screen of the Predator XB253Q GZ is 1920 Γ— 1080 pixels. The monitor has a refresh rate of 240Hz and a response time of 1ms. As with previous models, the dynamic contrast ratio and display brightness are 100:000 and 000 cd/m1, respectively. sRGB color space coverage is 400%.

The monitor has two 2W speakers, two HDMI 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort 1.2, two USB-A 3.0 and a 3,5mm audio jack. The manufacturer does not indicate the price of the Predator XB253Q GZ monitor, but promises to launch it on the EMEA market in August, and in the US and China in September.
