The Trump administration has blacklisted five of Amazon's largest online retailers based outside the United States. It's worth noting that Amazon's U.S. website was not included.

The companies in question are Amazon's e-commerce platforms in the UK, Germany, France, India and Canada, which have been added to the list of "disreputable" sites.
The US Trade Representative explained that these websites facilitated the sale of counterfeit and pirated goods and that their addition to the blacklist was the result of complaints from American companies about their sale of counterfeit goods.
Amazon, for its part, called the move politically motivated and said it had invested heavily to prevent illegal activity by merchants.
The internet company said in a statement that it had invested significant funds into addressing the issue and blocked more than 6 billion questionable seller listings last year alone.
"We are active stakeholders in the fight against counterfeiting," the Amazon spokesperson added.
