The app brings interesting effects and filters, as well as a number of machine learning-based features and some tricks from Photoshop. The camera is aimed more at social media users and popular bloggers than at professional photographers: it does not have the advanced editing features found in the Photoshop app for iPad.

Instead, Photoshop Camera allows you to apply various filters, uses the Sensei AI engine to recognize objects in a photo, and can recommend and automatically apply adjustments based on analysis of the content of the photo (i.e. dynamic range, tone, scene type, and facial areas).

The Face Light feature optimizes lighting to remove harsh shadows. The app recognizes every subject in group self-portraits to eliminate distortion, and promises "lenses" made by artists and influencers like singer Billie Eilish.

Adobe emphasizes speed and results: "Quick fixes, such as improving portraits and removing lens distortion, mean the user can post images that look like they took a lot longer to process."
