“We're tailoring the game for newcomers in different ways,” Isgreen said, noting that he couldn't reveal details yet because they directly relate to the intricacies of the campaigns (they are kept secret). — I can say that we are doing something completely new, which has not been seen in any part of the series. I’m actually not sure that in any existing game you can see what we create for the [Age of Empires IV] campaigns.”

The leader also said that the fourth part will feature the “Art of War” missions, present in the recent re-release of Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. As it turned out, these special tasks, including those designed to teach users how to act in non-standard situations (for example, when an opponent attacks at the very beginning of the game), were created for Age of Empires IV. “I’m adamant about the importance of training,” Isgreen said. — It was I who asked to add such missions to [Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition]. The development is carried out by Relic Entertainment, which created Company of Heroes and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War. Among other things, the authors promise sophisticated AI that will give individuality to each unit.
The studio is targeting PC, but
Another studio, Australian Tantalus Media, is currently working on Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition under the supervision of the series developers. Remasters of the first two parts were made by World's Edge: the re-release of Age of Empires II appeared on November 14, 2019, and the original Age of Empires in 2018.
