Akasa introduced an adapter called AK-PCCM2P-04, which allows you to connect up to two M.2 SSDs to the motherboard's PCI Express slots.
The novelty is made in the form of a compact expansion card with two PCI Express x4 connectors, one for each M.2 connector. One of them is located on the board itself, while the other is brought out through a flexible cable and is supposed to be connected to the adjacent PCI Express slot.
The presence of two separate PCI Express x4 connectors allows you not to limit the speed of each of the SSDs, as well as to use them in parallel. New Akasa supports drives M.2 NVMe length 30, 42, 60 and 80 mm.
On the top and side faces of the printed circuit board of the AK-PCCM2P-04 adapter there is an LED strip with a plastic diffuser. It uses a pixel (addressable) RGB backlight that can simultaneously glow in different colors. Management is supported using proprietary utilities from motherboard manufacturers: ASRock Polychrome Sync, ASUS Aura Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion and MSI Mystic Light.
Also, the AK-PCCM2P-04 adapter is equipped with an aluminum radiator to remove heat from the drives installed in it. This improves stability and performance under heavy loads. There are also a couple of thermal pads included. The timing of the start of sales and the estimated price of the Akasa AK-PCCM2P-04 adapter are not specified.
