Strategy Analytics has made a forecast for the global speaker market with an intelligent voice assistant for the current year.
It is estimated that approximately 86 million smart speakers with a voice assistant were sold worldwide last year. The demand for such devices continues to grow steadily.
This year, according to Strategy Analytics, shipments of smart speakers globally will rise by 57%. As a result, the market volume in numerical terms will reach 135 million units.
Last year, speakers with Amazon Alexa accounted for about 37,7% of the industry. In 2019, as predicted, this figure will decrease to 31,7%.
At the same time, the share of gadgets with the Google Assistant will increase over the year from 30,3% to 31,4%. Thus, the market shares of Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant in 2019 will be almost equal.
In other words, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant will account for approximately two-thirds of the smart speaker market this year.
