Network sources report that at present, the free music service for owners of Echo speakers is a kind of addition to paid subscriptions. Recall that Prime users can access 2 million songs for $119 per year. In addition, they receive a substantial discount on their subscription to the Amazon Music Unlimited service, which has a library of about 50 million tracks.

The official statement of the company says that now users will be able to form collections of songs by artist, genre or era. For example, the service allows you to collect compositions of pop artists, music from the 80s, country bands, etc. The service also provides playlists with world hits and popular dance tunes. Several such collections have appeared on the official Amazon page, giving users an idea of the broadcast content.

Most likely, the free music service was organized to increase sales of Echo speakers. The new Echo speaker feature is currently only available in the US. A similar Google Home service, which appeared earlier, has a more extensive geography of distribution. Now it can be used by residents of the US, UK and Australia.
