AMD is pleased with the upward trend in average prices for its processors

With the advent of the first generation Ryzen processors, AMD's profit margin began to increase, from a commercial point of view, the sequence of their release was chosen correctly: first, more expensive models went on sale, and only then more affordable ones switched to the new architecture. The next two generations of Ryzen processors migrated to the new architecture in the same order, allowing the company to continually increase the average selling price of its products. How confessed AMD Chief Financial Officer Devinder Kumar, the introduction of third-generation Ryzen processors further increased the brand's average selling price.

AMD management only welcomes such a trend, since the personal computer market has not been growing at the same pace for a long time, and it would be problematic to increase revenue solely by increasing the volume of product deliveries in physical terms. In the current conditions, the company gets the opportunity to increase revenue and market share in terms of money, not really looking back at the state of the entire market of computer components. At the same time, Devinder Kumar notes the high interest of buyers in the Ryzen 9 series processors, which debuted this summer. True, he did not give any comments about the situation with their availability.

Recall that the 7-nm AMD Ryzen 3000 processors went on sale on July 9 and quickly took a leading position in popularity among their own kind. The older model Ryzen 3900 9X with twelve cores is still difficult to buy in many countries, although nominally it is considered one of the most popular in the new family. In Russia, Matisse processors immediately occupied a third of the market among all generations of Ryzen. In Germany, these processors account for half of AMD's sales revenue for one major online retailer for two consecutive months. The announcement of the Ryzen 3950 749X processor with sixteen cores is scheduled for the end of September, which is priced at $XNUMX.
