AMD, Embark Studios and Adidas join the Blender Development Fund

AMD joined to the program Blender Development Fund as the main sponsor (Patron), transferring more than 3 thousand euros per year for the development of the free 120D modeling system Blender. The proceeds are planned to be invested in the overall development of the Blender 3D modeling system, migration to the Vulkan graphics API, and ensuring high-quality support for AMD technologies. In addition to AMD, the main sponsors of Blender previously also included NVIDIA and Epic Games. Details of the financial participation of NVIDIA and AMD are not disclosed, and Epic Games has allocated 1.2 million to fund Blender over three years.

About Blender support also announced the company Embark Studios and Adidas who entered categories "gold" and "silver" sponsors, respectively. Embark Studios will transfer Blender from 30 thousand euros per year and intends make their Blender tools open source (some Embark tools are already open). In the long term, Embark Studios plans to move to using Blender as its main 3D and environment. The contribution of Adidas, which uses Blender to solve visualization problems, will be from 12 euros per year.
