AMD has updated the logo of professional graphics cards based on Vega

AMD has unveiled a new version of its Vega brand logo, which will be used in Radeon Pro professional graphics accelerators. Thus, the company further separates its professional video cards from consumer ones: now the difference will be not only in color (red for consumer and blue for professional ones), but also in the logo itself.

The original Vega logo was formed by two regular triangles forming a "V". In the new logo, the same letter is formed by two tetrahedra, that is, three-dimensional triangles. Such a logo should emphasize the general professional focus of Radeon Pro graphics cards, indicating the best opportunities for working with 3D graphics in particular.

Note that the new logo is already flaunting on the latest versions of the packaging of Radeon Pro WX 9100 and Radeon Pro WX 8200 video cards based on the Vega GPU and intended for use in workstations. Most likely, other Vega GPU-based Radeon Pro accelerators will also receive an updated logo.

Some might find it strange to update the logo now, shortly before the release of new Navi GPUs and video cards based on them. However, working graphics cards based on Vega will remain relevant after the release of Navi. First, they have a very high performance in professional tasks. And secondly, if the rumors are true, AMD will initially release the mid-range Navi GPU and only then the older model. So professional accelerators based on AMD will remain in the assortment for some time.
