This summer, AMD is due to unveil a number of its new products, in particular 7nm central and graphics processors. Active preparations are now underway for the upcoming launches, and part of this preparation will be a special event for the “red” company’s partners, including production ones, which is scheduled for April 23.
Unfortunately, it is not known for certain what AMD will tell its partners about, because it has not made any specific public statements regarding announcements in the near future. However, based on the latest rumors, we will try to guess what the main topics of this event will be. By the way, we note that this will only be a regional event, most likely in the USA, and several more similar meetings are planned in other regions in the future.
So, almost certainly one of the main topics of the meeting with partners will be the upcoming 7nm AMD Ryzen 3000 series desktop processors. It is very likely that AMD will share details both about the chips themselves and about the new platform - AMD X570. For example, motherboard manufacturers can be told in more detail about some of the features of new processors and chipsets. Or AMD will reveal its plans for the timing of the new chips so that manufacturers can prepare their products for them.
Another key topic at the upcoming meeting may be video cards based on 7nm AMD Navi GPUs. According to rumors, the announcement of new Radeon video cards may take place in late spring at Computex 2019. According to other sources, the announcement will take place a little later, by mid-summer. If rumors are to be believed, new graphics accelerators may go on sale in the second half of summer. Perhaps AMD will just provide information about the timing of the announcement and release of new video cards at an event at the end of April, and will also reveal to its partners some details about future new products.
Of course, the event on April 23 will be closed, only for representatives of AMD partner companies. However, it is quite possible to expect some leaks to appear after it. Let's hope that at a minimum the release dates for certain new AMD products will become known, and ideally some other details will appear.
