On May 1, 2019, Advanced Micro Devices will celebrate its 50th anniversary. In honor of this significant event, the developers are preparing several surprises. We are talking about the Ryzen 7 2700X 50th Anniversary Edition processor, as well as the Sapphire AMD 50th Anniversary Edition Nitro + Radeon RX 590 graphics card, which will go on sale. Information about this appeared on some trading network sites.
Unfortunately, besides the fact that the Wraith Prism cooler with LED backlighting will be shipped with the chip, almost nothing is said about the processor itself. How it will differ from existing versions of the Ryzen 7 2700X is not yet known. You can pre-order the processor, which will go on sale April 30, for $340,95, well above the regular retail price. The announcement does not indicate the clock frequencies at which the anniversary chip operates, so this question also remains open. Most likely, the processor will not receive any significant changes such as an increase in the number of cores or cache.
As for the previously mentioned video card, its description was seen on the site of the Portuguese marketplace PCDIGA, offering to place a pre-order for the purchase of Sapphire AMD 50th Anniversary Edition Nitro + Radeon RX 590 8 GB for € 299,90.
The presented video card looks in the style of devices that have been released by Sapphire lately. For example, the accelerator has a Dual-X cooler, which has been used by the company for a long time. The novelty is made in gold, instead of black or blue, which are used much more often. Most likely, inside the video card there are two 8 mm and two 6 mm copper pipes for heat dissipation, which are available in standard versions of the Nitro + RX 590. Note the presence of a kind of rear panel made of aluminum. It is used for passive cooling and also adds rigidity. Active cooling is provided by a pair of 95mm fans. There is a DVI interface, as well as two HDMI and DisplayPort. To connect additional power, it is proposed to use 6- and 8-pin connectors.
The video card supports Zero DB Cooling technology, which automatically turns on the fans only when the temperature of the GPU exceeds a certain point. Each of the fans is fixed with only one screw, which allows quick replacement if necessary.
