AMD releases new driver 20.Q2 for Radeon Pro and FirePro

AMD has announced the release of its new Radeon Pro Software for Enterprise 20.Q2 (19.40.03.03) driver package for professional Radeon Pro and FirePro Graphics graphics cards, which promises to address stability issues experienced when using Dassault Systemes SolidWorks software on Dell Precision Workstations 3540 which include Radeon Pro WX2100 graphics.

In terms of supported operating systems, the package was released only in the version for the 64-bit Microsoft Windows 10 operating system and is designed to work with the OpenGL 4.6, OpenCL 2.0, DirectX 12.0 and Vulkan 1.1 APIs. The driver is compatible with Radeon Pro WX, Radeon Vega Frontier Edition, Radeon Pro, FirePro W, and FirePro S series graphics cards, as well as select Dell, HP, and Panasonic mobile cards. However, if desired, owners of conventional AMD Radeon gaming video cards can also use it.

Among the known bugs that AMD is working on fixing are: a problem with installing drivers on systems with some 5K displays; as well as image distortion when the Eyefinity display configuration is re-enabled in portrait mode after connecting an additional display.

Through the Day Zero program, AMD has already issued more than 1440 certifications for ISV applications. It is also optimized for well-known professional software like Autodesk AutoCAD, Adobe Premiere Pro, Autodesk Maya and so on.
