AMD releases fresh driver 20.Q1.1 for Radeon Pro

AMD has released the latest version of its Radeon Pro Software for Enterprise 20.Q1.1 graphics driver, which is designed for professional Radeon Pro and FirePro accelerators. However, owners of conventional AMD gaming video cards can also use it. It fixes an issue with inconsistent image quality in the Foundry Nuke app when using the blur effect. But there are other innovations as well.

The following functional innovations are mentioned:

  • Settings Snapshot: allows you to capture, import, export, and share GPU configurations to help with large-scale customization of a professional graphics workstation;
  • Moved EDID management from Radeon Pro Advanced Settings to Radeon Pro Settings and resides in the Display tab.
  • Framelock / Genlock: In multi-platform configurations using more than one S400 clock module, 4K resolutions at 60Hz and above are not supported;
  • it is possible to change the fan speed on different GPUs on the Global Tuning tab;
  • Added support for Xconnect Workstation with Radeon ProRender, allowing individual applications to use both internal and external discrete GPUs for acceleration.

AMD also reported a number of notes:

  • AMD driver compatible with DCH;
  • AMD Radeon Pro Software for Enterprise 20.Q1.1 and later will be "as is" supported for AMD Radeon family of consumer accelerators;
  • Driver Options is no longer supported and will not be supported as of 20.Q1.1 - the latest Radeon Adrenalin Edition 2019 will now support the latest Radeon Pro accelerators.
  • Multi-GPU Eyefinity Pro feature will not be supported in version 20.Q1.1;
  • CrossFire Pro and Serial Digital Interface (SDI) are not supported in version 20.Q1.1;
  • this driver is not intended for use in Radeon products running on Apple Boot Camp platforms - users of these platforms should contact the manufacturer for support;
  • When installing the driver on Microsoft Windows operating systems, the user must be logged in as an administrator or have administrator rights to complete the installation of the Radeon Pro 20.Q1.1 software;
  • AMD FirePro S7100 series accelerators starting with driver 20.Q3 and later will not be supported - the last series of Radeon Pro drivers for these accelerators will be 20.Q2.

AMD has released both Radeon Pro Software for Enterprise driver versions 20.Q1.1 for 64-bit Windows 7, 10, Server 2016 and Server 2019And for Linux (RHEL 8.1 / CentOS 8.1, RHEL 7.7 / CentOS 7.7, Ubuntu 18.04.2 and SLED/SLES 15.1). The package is dated February 13th.
