Analysts have changed their forecast for the all-in-one PC market from neutral to pessimistic

According to the updated forecast of the analytical company Digitimes Research, supplies of all-in-one PCs in 2019 will decrease by 5% and amount to 12,8 million units of equipment. Experts' previous expectations were more optimistic: it was assumed that there would be zero growth in this market segment. The main reasons for lowering the forecast were the growing trade war between the US and China, as well as the ongoing shortage of Intel processors.

Analysts have changed their forecast for the all-in-one PC market from neutral to pessimistic

Among manufacturers, the largest drop in shipments is expected from Apple and Lenovo, the two leaders in this market sector. HP and Dell, which occupy third and fourth places in the ranking of the largest suppliers of all-in-one monoblocks (All-in-One, AIO), will lose less. According to the principle of a chain reaction, negative dynamics from vendors will transfer to ODM enterprises. Quanta Computer, Wistron and Compal Electronics will feel this most strongly. The first risks losing some orders from Apple and HP, the other two companies will face a reduction in plans for the production of all-in-one PCs by Lenovo Corporation.

At the same time, the share of AIO systems among all desktop computers shipped in 2019 will be about 12,6%. For comparison: at the end of 2017, this figure reached 13%. True, that year was generally successful for the monoblock market, which for the first time in several years moved from contraction to slight growth. Then deliveries in quantitative terms rose by 3% and fell just short of 14 million units.
