Android Q will get a native desktop mode

As part of an initiative to create a version of Android for foldable displays, Google also works over the native desktop mode of the OS. This is similar to the implementation of Samsung Dex, Remix OS and others, but now this mode will be present in Android by default.

As of now, it's available in beta on the Google Pixel, Essential Phone, and a few others. You can activate the mode in the developer options. At the same time, almost all smartphones will require a USB-C to HDMI adapter in order to output an image.

So far, it is difficult to say how much smartphones will be able to replace personal computers, but the very fact of the appearance of such a function is pleasing. This will expand its use in offices and, in fact, combine the workplace and mobile gadget.

So far, there is no information on how well this mode works, however, it seems that there will be no particular problems with it. After all, earlier enthusiasts created a lot of forks of Android, adapting them to the "desktop" format, so there are already some developments.
