Together with a mid-range smartphone
Outwardly, they resemble Apple AirPods, and also have a touch panel at the end with customizable controls on your smartphone. A convenient function is the automatic pause: just remove one of the earbuds from the ear and playback will pause, return within three minutes and it will continue. But unfortunately, you canβt use one earbud for calls β they only work in pairs.
There is only one size, there are no silicone pads, so they will not always stay in the ears well: depending on the anatomy. The earbuds are also IPX4 waterproof, which means they are splash and sweat resistant.
Three built-in microphones provide suppression of external noise. But the function, as noted by Engadget reviewers, does not work satisfactorily: it does not filter unwanted sounds well. However, the interlocutor will not encounter the problem of background hiss or fuzzy voice. Despite the large 13,4mm drivers, the headphones deliver mediocre sound quality (probably due to the lack of a seal in the ear canal) and are more suitable for podcasting than listening to music. But it is worth noting that OnePlus has not yet released the final version of the software, so the advertised bass boost feature may not be activated. It is also possible that in the future the situation will be improved by the equalizer on OnePlus smartphones.
Headphones are able to work autonomously for 7 hours and up to 30 hours when recharged from the battery built into the case. There is no wireless charging. However, the convenience of use will provide a faster Warp Charge charge for the case: 10 hours of playback in just 10 minutes. A full charge will take about 80 minutes, according to OnePlus.
It is worth noting the support of Dolby Atmos, which is designed to improve the perception of surround sound when listening to relevant materials. SBC and AAC codecs are supported, while better ones like apt-X HD were not available due to the use of a non-Qualcomm chipset.
Supports the Android quick connection function, linking to a Google account, reporting the battery level of the headphones and case, and finding a lost earbud by playing a sound.
The OnePlus Buts will be available in the US starting July 27 in white and later in dark gray, with an additional blue color scheme offered in Europe and India. Pre-orders are already open.
